ClutterPuck – Cal Clutterbuck Update – 5-11-2011

UPDATE THE CLUTTER!

Hey, you’re probably wondering what Cal Clutterbuck has been up to since the Minnesota Wild’s season ended?

Good ‘ole 22 Cal is getting some recognition around the NHL:

NHL Power Rankings: The Top Support Players in the Game Today – (Bleacher Report – Mark Della Posta) – 4/21/2011

NHL Video: Power Ranking the 10 Biggest Hits of the 2011 NHL Season – (Bleacher Report – Matt Faulconer) – 5/4/2011

Lemmon is sweet on joining Bulls – Belleville’s second-rounder plays with an edge and can score – (The Intelligencer – Paul Svoboda) – 5/7/2011 – Is there another Clutterbuck?

Cal Clutterbuck is currently playing in the World Championships*, along with Wild teammate Brent Burns, that have been going on since April 29th over in Slovakia. The Wild actually have 7 players in Slovakia. In six games, Cal has 1 assist, 4 PIM, he has a plus/minus of -2, 16 shots on goal and he’s averaging 12:57 of ice time per game. He’s playing on the fourth line with Andrew Ladd and Travis Zajac. He’s bringing the CLUTTER like he always does:

*You know what that means…that’s right…International CLUTTER!

The 2011 IIHF World Championship Quarterfinals began today:

Czech Republic beat USA 4-0

Sweden beat Germany 5-2

Tomorrow’s Quarterfinal games:

Finland vs Norway – Mikko Koivu & Mikael Granlund from the Wild are on Finland’s team

Canada vs Russia – Clutterbuck and Burns are on Canada’s team

You have to believe it will be Finland and Canada winning those quarterfinal games and then we get Finland vs Canada! That would be fun to watch.

These World Championships are kind of strange! They don’t have the best players since some of them are stll playing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I wonder why they don’t delay them until after the Stanley Cup Playoffs are over.

What do you think?
